Pre-Dance—30
minute class (ages 2-3)
A
learning readiness program designed to develop motor skills and body
awareness. Basic tumbling and simple tap and ballet routines are
taught.
Creative Dance Levels 1, 1/2, 2, 2/3, 3
CD
1—45
minute class (ages 3-4) - An introductory course in the basics of tap,
ballet, and tumbling. Fifteen minutes are devoted to each activity
in order to stimulate, yet not overextend, the young child’s
limited attention span. Routines are taught in tap and ballet.
Ribbons are presented in the progressive tumbling curriculum.
CD
1/2— 1 hour class (ages 4-6) - Review and
complete all of CD 1 curriculum and proceed thru CD 2 as far as the
group allows. Medals are presented in gym.
CD
2—1
hour class (ages 4-6) - Review and complete all of CD 1 curriculum and
proceed thru CD 2 as far as the group allows.
At the end of the year, if they have completed CD 2
curriculum, they will promote to CD 2/3, CD 3 or School Age Combo. Twenty minutes of each activity, including tap, ballet and
tumbling. Medals are presented in tumbling.
CD2/3—– 1 hour class (ages
5-7) A continuation
CD 2 curriculum in tap, ballet, and jazz/tumbling.
CD 3— 1 hour
class (ages 5-7) A continuation of the CD 2/3
curriculum in tap, ballet, and jazz/tumbling. By invitation only.
School-Age
Combination Levels 1 & 2 - (ages 7 & up)
Combination class of tap,
ballet, and jazz designed to give the beginning older student a
broad foundation.
Intermediate
Combination ballet, tap, jazz
classes designed for the experienced school age student who wishes
to pursue dance training on a once a week basis.
Prerequisite: CD 2/3, SAC, or above.
Graded Program Levels
1-6—Ballet, Tap, & Jazz
Classes are designed for the serious experienced student.
Auditions are required for placement. Classes are held from 2 to 5
days per week based on age and ability, and are designed to
challenge the students technically as well as provide a disciplined
environment. Dress code is mandatory and regular attendance
required.
(2 consecutive absences result in probationary membership.) All
missed classes must be made up. **A ballet class at some level
is required for any participation in the graded program. Students
are highly encouraged to attend classes in all three major
dance disciplines but it is not mandatory.
Lyrical—ages 10
& up
A modern dance form that fuses modern dance, jazz, ballet, and
the interpretation of a song’s lyrics. Prerequisite: dance
experience required.
Modern- ages 10 & up
A form of contemporary dance employing techniques for developing the use
of the entire body in movements deriving from the expression of
inner feeling. Prerequisite:
dance experience required.
Musical Theatre—ages
4 & up
A combination of acting,
singing, and dance. (No prerequisite.)
Hip Hop 1,2,3-
ages 7-13
The latest “Funk” jazz
style; grouped according to age and experience. (No prerequisite.)
Hippity Hop—ages
4-6
A fun Hip Hop, fitness, and tumbling class. (No prerequisite.)
Cheer/Drill Levels 1 & 2-ages
4-6 and ages 7 & up
This class will
include basics of cheerleading, stunts, jumps, and fun rhythmic
dances with poms, jazz, and kick routines. (No prerequisite).
Teen
Ballet, Tap, & Jazz- ages 11 & up
Combination ballet, tap, jazz
classes designed for the experienced student who wishes to pursue
dance training on a once a week basis.
Prerequisite: Intermediate or above.
